This year, the National Congress on Family Entrepreneurship revolved around Entrepreneurship with Impact. Ineke gave a (live!) lecture on the importance of stewardship for successful family businesses and discussed the Midas curse, Dannis Jaffe's research into the 100 most successful family businesses in the world and their best practices, and the unfortunately often restrictive role of legal consultants.
Making family & business sustainable is an important mission of mine, I try to change the legal world that still focuses on patriarch, control and privacy. It is precisely the transparent, stewardship-focused entrepreneurs who are successful in the long term. This requires a completely different focus, which you only see when you realise it. The aim is to achieve regeneration rather than degeneration, which unfortunately still leads to the long-term failure of 70% of all family businesses.
